Who this serves
Brickell is Miami's financial district, and most Onyx bookings here follow that pattern: corporate accounts moving executives between office towers, meetings, and the airport, plus residents in the neighborhood's dense residential high-rises. It is one of the most walkable parts of Miami — many residents don't keep a car — which means the trips that do happen tend to be time-specific: a flight, a closing, a dinner reservation.
The geography
Brickell runs along Brickell Avenue between the Miami River to the north and roughly the Rickenbacker Causeway interchange to the south, with Biscayne Bay to the east and Interstate 95 to the west. North of the Miami River, US-1 continues into Downtown as Biscayne Boulevard, and the Financial District and the Metromover's Brickell Loop tie the two areas together.
Airport access
Miami International (MIA) is the closer, more frequently used airport from Brickell; the route depends on traffic and typically involves I-95 and/or SR 836 (the Dolphin Expressway) rather than a single fixed road. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL) is a longer trip north but a reasonable option depending on your flight. President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT, formerly PBI) in West Palm Beach is generally reserved for a specific nonstop.
Trip types
Corporate accounts book recurring office-to-airport and office-to-meeting travel with consolidated billing. PortMiami cruise transfers are booked given the port's proximity across the bay. Event coverage for the Kaseya Center and Bayside Marketplace area, just north in Downtown, is booked the same way as any Brickell pickup.
A note on Brickell addresses
Brickell City Centre and Mary Brickell Village are both frequent pickup points but sit several blocks apart on Brickell Avenue and South Miami Avenue respectively — giving the specific property name at booking, rather than just "Brickell," avoids a pickup at the wrong entrance during a tight meeting window.
Getting around Brickell
- Brickell Avenue. The neighborhood's main artery, running its full length; north of the Miami River, US-1 continues as Biscayne Boulevard into Downtown.
- I-95. Forms the western boundary. MIA sits west-northwest of Brickell, so the route there typically involves SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway) as well as I-95, not I-95 alone.
- Miami River crossing. The bridge into Downtown can slow at peak hours, which matters for tight meeting-to-meeting timing.
- Metromover coexists, doesn't replace. Many residents walk or use the free Metromover locally, but airport runs, port transfers, and out-of-neighborhood meetings still go by car.
- Rush-hour I-95. Morning and evening rush hour on I-95 through Brickell is heavy in both directions, which matters most for early flights and end-of-day airport runs.
