Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL) is normally the geographically closer major airport to Sunny Isles Beach, with Miami International (MIA) to the south as the other main option — though bridge traffic, nonstop availability, schedule, and fare can all affect which is the better practical choice. Neither airport is directly on the island, so crossing to the mainland first is part of either trip. President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT, formerly PBI) in West Palm Beach is a longer trip, generally reserved for a specific nonstop route.
Most bookings here are airport transfers for residents and visiting family, plus shopping and dinner trips down Collins Avenue to Bal Harbour Shops or into Aventura Mall. Event-day coverage during Art Basel and Miami Art Week is available, given how close the island sits to Bal Harbour and Miami Beach.
The 163rd Street Bridge is also signed as Sunny Isles Boulevard on some maps and GPS apps, which can read as two different roads to a first-time visitor. It is the same crossing. Confirming which bridge a building sits closer to at booking time avoids routing confusion, especially for towers near the middle of the island.
